Coronavirus: Vaccination Accelerates in the Metropolis

Latest News

After a break during the long New Year holiday weekend, vaccination resumes in Nice and the Metropolitan area of the Cรดte d’Azur.

While the controversy over the vaccination schedule continues, the launch of the second and third phases, which concern a broader public, the Nice-Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis continues to vaccinate with its 5,000 doses that arrived last week.

The first phase still concerns residents of nursing homes, but now it also targets all healthcare workers over 50 years old working in any healthcare facility.

The 5,000 doses will be administered within ten days,” specified the mayor, Christian Estrosi. The president of the Metropolis also noted that, starting this week, 3,000 new doses will soon arrive in the Cรดte d’Azur territory. “They are still intended for the most vulnerable people. The residents of nursing homes and autonomy houses or healthcare workers over 50 or with a high-risk pathology. For others, those in phases 2 and 3, we still have to wait.

As a reminder, and to ensure an effective and rapid campaign, the local authorities must absolutely work in concert with the State and avoid any “sterile controversy.”
