Côte d’Azur: A New Call for Projects for Its Priority Neighborhoods

Latest News

With a budget of 2.9 million euros, this scheme funded by the European Union will support social, economic, or environmental projects in urban policy areas in 2025. Applications are open online.

The Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis is launching a new call for projects aimed at reducing inequalities in areas classified under urban policy. This scheme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and co-managed with the European Union. The goal is to support initiatives that improve daily life and enhance local development.

In 2023, five projects were selected for a total amount of more than three million euros. In previous years, European funding also enabled the realization of public facilities like the recycling centers at Moulins and Ariane or the creation of tram stations in the Moulins district.

Christian Estrosi, Mayor of Nice and President of the Metropolis, emphasizes the importance of this partnership: “I am pleased that the European Union is once again putting its trust in the metropolis to co-manage this European structural fund. This decisive support will allow us to go further in implementing new social and environmental projects for the urban renewal of these priority neighborhoods, which are evolving thanks to the transformations initiated by the City of Nice and the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis.”

Support for local facilities and economy

For the 2025 edition, the grant amounts to 2.9 million euros. Proposed projects must meet the concrete needs of residents. This may involve the creation or renovation of facilities like daycare centers, social centers, or sports facilities. Actions favoring the local economy are also eligible, such as the development of coworking spaces, rehabilitation of businesses, or implementation of social and solidarity economy projects.

The financial aid granted may cover between 40 and 60% of the total cost of each project. For a private sponsor, the minimum subsidy is 60,000 euros. For a public sponsor, it is set at 180,000 euros. The maximum aid amount reaches 1.5 million euros.

Applications will be assessed based on several criteria: project quality, impact on the neighborhood, viability, contribution to European objectives, and environmental respect.

Interested applicants can find all practical information on the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis website. Applications must be submitted via the online platform.
