In 2025, the social housing provider will strengthen its efforts in local engagement and safety in the city’s priority neighborhoods. The announcement was made during a meeting with the Alpes-Maritimes prefecture, focused on the reduction of the property tax on built properties.
As the leading housing provider in the Alpes-Maritimes, Côte d’Azur Habitat manages nearly half of its stock in Nice’s priority neighborhoods. The organization aims to continue and amplify its commitment in 2025. Its action plan represents a provisional budget of 4.5 million euros, almost double the amount received through the property tax reduction.
The housing provider wishes to improve the living environment through concrete initiatives. Among them are the reopening of an agency in L’Ariane, the implementation of regular activities, and support for local associations. Interventions also focus on cleanliness, with graffiti removal, bulky waste removal, and maintenance of common areas.
Work is being undertaken to repair damage caused by acts of vandalism. Elevators and access points are particularly affected. The objective: to maintain functional and welcoming living spaces.
Security and Social Support
Beyond maintenance, Côte d’Azur Habitat is taking action on the security and tranquility of residences. Over 125 procedures have been initiated since 2023 to combat squatting. The housing units thus recovered can be allocated to new tenants.
The GAIDA (Grouping of inter-landlord agents against disorder and abuse) device now mobilizes 18 agents. They intervene in conflict prevention, in connection with the residents. Since its creation in 2023, GAIDA has carried out 4,726 evictions of individuals from common areas, 101 seizures of narcotics, and 70 seizures of knives.
Social mediators complement this system, to facilitate dialogue and resolve tensions before they escalate. This human presence also aims to support tenants in their daily procedures.
For Anthony Borré, president of Côte d’Azur Habitat, the line is clear: “since taking office, I have made improving the living environment of our tenants a priority, by strengthening the resources dedicated to local engagement and security. These 4.5 million euros will allow us to continue our actions and strengthen our presence in these neighborhoods. We can be proud of the investment and work of our employees who sometimes face challenging situations. Their daily presence and proximity to the tenants directly contribute to improving living conditions within these priority neighborhoods.”
In 2025, these additional resources are expected to continue the work begun, with one objective: to maintain a close relationship between the landlord and the residents, while improving their daily environment.
