The coronavirus epidemic continues its slow decline since the end of lockdown.
According to the daily report issued by Santé Publique France on Friday, May 21, 2021, 111 people died in hospitals over the last 24 hours. Since the beginning of the epidemic, at least 5,581,351 cases have been confirmed, which is 12,800 more than the previous day.
In hospitals, 20,209 patients are currently hospitalized for coronavirus symptoms, bringing hospital strain to 71.8%. This number has decreased by 541 patients compared to yesterday, while 3,631 people remain in intensive care, which is 138 fewer in the last 24 hours. In total this Friday, 625 patients were admitted to hospitals, which is 84 fewer than the previous day.
The reproduction rate is 0.78, while the incidence rate has stabilized at 123.22. The positivity rate stands at 3.6%.
