292 people have died from the Coronavirus in the last 24 hours in hospitals, bringing the death toll to 62,268 since the onset of the pandemic.


The country now has 21,634 new cases of Covid-19 contamination in the last 24 hours. Despite the positivity rate remaining low, according to a source from the health authorities, the number of new positive cases remains significant. Last week, this number fluctuated between 12,000 and 18,000 new cases per day.

In the PACA region, the number of hospital deaths stands at 3,389 since the start of the epidemic, an increase of 29 deaths compared to Wednesday. In the Alpes-Maritimes, there are 565 deaths, an increase of six.

In this region, 254 patients are in follow-up and rehabilitation care (SSR). Only one person has been added to this list. And conventional hospitalizations have increased to 203, an increase of 7.

Of the 10,350 Covid-19 residents from the PACA region placed in nursing homes since the early days of the crisis, 1,868 are from the Alpes-Maritimes, and of the 1,076 residents who died in nursing homes in the PACA region, the Alpes-Maritimes accounts for 151.

Of the 424 active clusters in the PACA region, department 06 ranks second with 109 clusters, behind the Bouches-du-Rhône (161 active clusters).
