This Friday, 309 new Covid-19-related deaths in hospitals (compared to 300 yesterday) have been added to a heavy toll: 100,433 deaths. In the last 24 hours, 36,442 new cases of infection were recorded, averaging 34,831 per day over the past week.
Hospital pressure is still being felt despite a very slight decrease: this Friday, Santé Publique France reports 30,472 coronavirus patients currently being treated, compared to 30,668 on Thursday.
As for severe cases, 5,914 patients are currently in critical care (including intensive care, advanced care, and continuous monitoring), compared to 5,924 on Thursday. 463 patients were admitted in the last 24 hours. There were 501 the day before, a number that has been almost stable for four days. As the vaccination campaign accelerates, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) reports that 12,287,795 people have received at least one injection (which is 18.3% of the total population and 23.4% of the adult population), and 4,410,619 people have received two injections.
The transmission rate in the Alpes-Maritimes is improving: it is 315/100,000 and is approaching the alert threshold, set at 250.
