The number of new COVID-19 cases detected in France in the past 24 hours is once again decreasing. This reduction is partly linked to the Ascension weekend, which led to the closure of laboratories.
3,350 is the number of COVID-19 cases recorded nationwide in the last 24 hours, 10,598 fewer cases than the previous day and 58 more than last Monday. These results “should be interpreted with caution, given the reduced activity of testing sites, compared to a week without holidays. Some decreases (especially the incidence rate) should therefore be considered with caution,” as reminded by Santรฉ Publique France.
Over the week, an average of 14,394 people were infected with the virus. Among them, 196 died yesterday in the hospital. In health facilities, there are currently 22,749 patients hospitalized with COVID-19 (-214 compared to the previous day) and 4,186 people in intensive care (-69 in 24 hours).
