Covid-19: Charles Ange Ginésy announces human and logistical resources for vaccination

The president of Department 06, Charles Ange Ginésy, proposes to the Regional Health Agency PACA to mobilize doctors and nurses from the departmental council to vaccinate the elderly in medico-social establishments as quickly as possible.

For Charles Ange Ginésy, the situation is critical, both in the Alpes-Maritimes and throughout France. To confront the ever-worsening Covid-19 threat, the president of the Alpes-Maritimes department calls for high vigilance and maintaining a high level of effort, particularly in view of the number of hospitalizations.

While recalling the efficacy of the vaccine, the campaign for which was launched last weekend, Charles Ange Ginésy appeals to the department’s doctors and nurses to vaccinate older people who are more vulnerable to the virus. Here are his words:

“I remain alert and very attentive to the epidemic situation. The incidence rate remains high in the Alpes-Maritimes, even though it has just fallen below 300 per 100,000 inhabitants. The number of hospitalizations — 532, including 46 in intensive care — compels us to maintain a very high level of effort against the virus. In this context, the vaccine is a solution that must be implemented quickly and effectively among the elderly and at-risk personnel who wish to receive it. To this end, I am proposing the human and logistical resources of the community to the ARS,” announces Charles Ange Ginésy.

“The Department will, therefore, intervene with its teams of doctors and nurses in establishments that have not found the necessary resources to vaccinate their residents within the scheduled time frames. We are ready to step in, pending a deployment schedule and a needs assessment from health authorities,” specifies the president of Department 06.

“Since the beginning of this pandemic, the community has been very reactive, with the distribution of 5 million masks, 20,000 liters of hydroalcoholic gel, as well as the engagement of mobile PCR testing teams involving 8 doctors and 7 or more nurses, or more recently the deployment of 50,000 antigen tests. RSA recipients have also been trained to reinforce the staff in EHPADs under pressure. We are 100% committed to protecting the most vulnerable and fighting against the spread of Covid-19.”
