The number of hospital admissions for a Covid-19 infection has now fallen below the 10,000 mark: 9,771 people are hospitalized this Wednesday, compared to 11,519 seven days ago. In parallel, 167 new patients have been admitted to the hospital.
Out of this total, 1,509 patients occupy a bed in critical care; there were 1,873 last Wednesday. Additionally, 33 new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. On the contamination front, 2,320 positive Covid-19 cases have been recorded according to health institute data.
Finally, vaccine coverage is progressing across the territory. More than 32 million people have already received an injection (specifically, 32,677,781 people), representing 48.8% of the total population and 62.2% of the adult population. Additionally, 17,601,838 people have received both doses, which is 26.3% of the total population and 33.5% of the adult population, as specified by the General Directorate of Health (DGS). In total, 19,677,506 people have a “complete vaccination schedule,” adds the DGS.
