With Covid cases declining for several days, the government had announced an easing of restrictions due to the health crisis. The date of February 2 marks the lifting of several of these constraints.
End of outdoor mask mandate
During the fifth wave, many cities, including Nice, had reinstated the obligation to wear masks outdoors. Now, while it is still recommended, it is no longer mandatory. This lifting of restrictions particularly affects markets, ski lift lines, and waiting lines.
However, wearing a mask remains mandatory indoors, particularly in workplaces, shops, or public transportation.
End of capacity limits for concerts, gatheringsโฆ
The limit of 2,000 people indoors and 5,000 outdoors is lifted starting this Wednesday. All venues with seated audiences can be filled, provided mask-wearing is respected and a vaccination pass is presented.
Standing concerts, however, will not resume until February 16.
End of mandatory remote work
Since last December 27, remote work was mandatory at least three times a week. From this February 2, it is no longer mandatory but still recommended by the government.
The rules for wearing masks, physical distancing, ventilation, and disinfection of premises have not changed since the last version of the health protocol in the workplace dated December 30.
