According to the latest figures released by health authorities, 27,228 new infections have been recorded in the last 24 hours.
On Sunday, 1,574 new admissions were recorded, bringing the total number of hospitalized individuals in France to 33,050.
Health authorities also reported 302 new coronavirus-related deaths in hospitals (compared to 359 the previous day), raising the total number of deaths to 44,548 since March, including 30,785 in hospitals.
While nearly 33,000 new positive tests were reported on Saturday, 27,228 were recorded on Sunday. However, this decrease should be viewed with caution as reporting delays are common on Sundays.
The test positivity rate, an indicator to be handled with care, now stands at 16.9%, compared to 17.3% the previous day.
