## The Increase in Pfizer-BioNTech Vaccine Supply Enables Faster Vaccination
Among the deployed vaccines, the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is currently experiencing the largest increases in allocations. This week, in addition to its weekly allocation, the Paca region received an additional allocation of more than 25,000 doses, which should allow for nearly 100,000 injections of this vaccine.
The opening of certain centers on weekends and large-scale centers like the Vélodrome stadium in Marseille, the Nikaïa palace in Nice, or the Zénith in Toulon will help achieve this goal.
By the beginning of April, the Pfizer vaccine allocation will increase to 161,000 doses per week.
## Positive Effects of Vaccination Among Those Over 75
Since the beginning of the campaign, people aged over 75 have been a prioritized group for vaccination due to the significant risks associated with the disease. Vaccination in nursing homes has notably been the subject of strong mobilization by all involved partners, which has allowed for 86% of nursing home residents to be vaccinated with at least a first dose.
The positive effects of vaccination are already being observed in these high-risk populations, with a significant decrease in hospitalizations and deaths. This favorable trend has also allowed for the relaxation of protective measures in these establishments.
