Covid-19: Masks for children are (almost) done

Latest News

The Government has decided that from October 4th, masks will no longer be necessary for primary school children in departments where the Covid-19 incidence rate is below 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for at least five consecutive days. Jean-Michel Blanquer specified that adults will also be affected by the end of the mask requirement.

This announcement was made following a defense council meeting held in the morning. During this meeting, the executive decided to switch to the school protocol level 1 instead of 2 in departments that meet this criterion. As of today, this will not apply to the Alpes-Maritimes, which slightly exceed the 100/100,000 mark.

For the moment, this does not change the principle of closing a class at the first case of coronavirus in nursery and primary schools.
