The number of new COVID-19 cases has slightly decreased this Tuesday (36,437 in 24 hours). However, more than 3,000 patients are now in intensive care, which represents half of the available beds across the country. This is an unprecedented level since the beginning of May.
According to the data from Public Health France, 372 new admissions to intensive care (or critical care) have been recorded since Tuesday. Taking into account the discharges, the number of COVID-19 patients currently in intensive care has increased by 127 in the last 24 hours, bringing the total to 3,036.
In the department, 65 people are currently hospitalized, including 17 in intensive care. Since the beginning of the epidemic, 246 patients have died from the consequences of the coronavirus in the Alpes-Maritimes, according to the regional health agency (ARS).
