5,797 new cases of Covid-19 contamination in the last twenty-four hours and more than 350 deaths, according to the figures from health authorities published this Monday.
The positivity rate of those tested stands at 4.7% compared to 5.2% the previous day, according to Santรฉ publique France (SpF). This key indicator was 6.4% on December 8, the date on which a new accounting method was introduced.
The number of Covid-19 patients currently being treated in intensive care continues its slow decline, with 2,737 patients (including 179 admitted in the last twenty-four hours) compared to 2,745 on Sunday, according to the health agency’s database.
This decrease has been significant since the peak of the second wave, reached on November 16 with more than 4,900 patients in intensive care. Approximately 25,201 people affected by the disease are currently hospitalized, with 1,284 new admissions in twenty-four hours.
The disease has claimed 354 lives in hospitals in the last twenty-four hours, compared to 131 on Sunday and 190 on Saturday, bringing the total death toll to 60,900 since the beginning of the pandemic, according to SpF.
