The pressure on hospitals remains high, with 30,868 patients being treated due to a Covid-19 virus infection. As for severe cases, 5,902 patients are currently in critical care (intensive care, intensive treatment, continuous monitoring), compared to 5,952 on Tuesday and 5,729 last Wednesday.
This Wednesday, Public Health France reported 297 new deaths linked to Covid-19, as well as 43,505 new coronavirus infections. These 297 deaths were recorded in hospital settings, bringing the total number of victims to over 99,800 since the start of the epidemic, a little over a year ago.
As the vaccination campaign accelerates, the Directorate General of Health (DGS) reported this Wednesday that 4,117,558 French people have received both injections, out of a total of 11,631,742 who have received at least one injection.
