Thursday afternoon, at the CCI, Christian Estrosi discussed the city hall’s plan in case of a worsening of the coronavirus epidemic.
At the Nice Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the mayor, Christian Estrosi, held a press conference to provide an update on the coronavirus. After two new cases were identified in Grasse, the city of Nice is ready for all eventualities. “We have observed that there is a loss of staff in the health and safety sectors when schools are closed. If we find ourselves in this situation, a situation we have considered, we will set up childcare facilities for the children of health and safety personnel,” reassured the mayor. Numerous scenarios have been prepared by the mayor’s team.
“We have taken measures for our elders”
Following the closure of all nursing homes in the city, residents of these places no longer have the opportunity to receive visits from their relatives for obvious health reasons. The mayor has therefore decided that “starting tomorrow, assisted by the social actions center, our nursing homes will have a room equipped with several computers with internet access. Thus, all of our elderly will be able to communicate with their relatives via videoconferencing services. We know that not speaking to family for days is simply terrifying.”
For now, the situation in Nice remains as it is. City life continues as usual, and no extraordinary measures are being taken at this time.
