Covid-19: slightly more than 1,000 patients in critical care

Fewer and fewer Covid-19 patients are being hospitalized, including in critical care. The number of infections is slightly increasing.


The improvement continues in hospitals. This Saturday, 7,912 patients are being treated in hospitals due to a Covid-19 infection. This number was 9,024 last Saturday.

Out of this total, 1,102 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized in critical care. Public Health France also reports 17 new deaths in the last 24 hours. In total, 111,181 people have died since the beginning of the epidemic in early 2020, including 84,708 in hospitals.

Public Health France records 3,006 new infections in the last 24 hours, a number that has continued to rise over the past six days. However, the increase is slight. The positivity rate, which represents the number of positive tests out of all tests conducted, remains low at 0.8% over the past seven days.

As of now, over 34 million people have received at least one vaccine dose (precisely 34,487,745, which is 51.2% of the total population). Additionally, 24,267,095 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (which is 36% of the total population).
