The number of Covid-19 patients continues to decrease in critical care units (which include intensive care, high dependency, and continuous monitoring). It stands at 4,870 this Monday, May 10.
The indicator, closely monitored by health authorities, is slowly moving away from the 6,000-patient mark, which was exceeded on April 26, and from the peak of the first wave in spring 2020 (approximately 7,000 patients).
The total number of Covid-19 patients hospitalized is also slightly decreasing, at 25,666 this Monday. It was 25,797 last Sunday.
France has also recorded 292 additional deaths due to Covid-19 in its hospitals.
