Covid-19: The effects of the Delta variant are being felt, more than 800 new hospitalizations

This Monday, the figures released by Santé publique France show an increase in the number of patients being treated in hospitals: 9,022 Covid-19 patients are hospitalized. Just in the last 24 hours, 833 people suffering from Covid have been admitted to the hospital. There were 700 a week ago.

In total, 1,667 patients are suffering from a severe form of the disease that requires care in critical care units.

In the past 24 hours, 68 patients with Covid-19 have died in hospitals. The trend remains clearly upward, as there were 51 deaths in 24 hours a week ago. However, the level remains well below previous peaks (300 or even 400 deaths per day). In total, 112,318 people have died from a Covid-19 infection since the start of the pandemic.
