According to Santรฉ Publique France, the incidence rate was 2,577 in the Alpes-Maritimes during the first week of January. Figures that are skyrocketing.
Santรฉ Publique France has unveiled the latest data on the Covid-19 epidemic, and it is safe to say that the incidence rate has increased very significantly.
Between January 1 and January 7, the incidence rate was 2,577, meaning 2,577 Covid cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the Alpes-Maritimes. Nationally, it stands at 2,545. This represents a 66% increase over the past seven days.
Mandatory Mask Wearing
In response to this increase in Covid cases, the prefect of the Alpes-Maritimes is extending the mandatory outdoor mask-wearing in the department until January 17.
Thus, mask-wearing remains mandatory for people aged 11 and over in all the communes of the Alpes-Maritimes. Here are the public spaces affected:
- Markets, flea markets, urban pedestrian streets
- Areas where road traffic is limited to 20 km/h
- City centers with a high concentration of people
- During demonstrations and events organized in public spaces
- Within a 50-meter perimeter around the entrances of nurseries, schools, colleges, and high schools (15 minutes before and after opening and closing)
- Within a 50-meter perimeter around the entrances of establishments open to the public where mask-wearing is mandatory
However, mask-wearing is not mandatory in green areas, natural spaces, and by bodies of water, where the physical distancing of at least two meters can be maintained.
