The number of Covid-19 patients in French hospitals continues to decrease slowly, including in intensive care units, according to data published on Tuesday, May 25, by Santé publique France.

Currently, 19,430 patients with Covid-19 are hospitalized, with 796 admitted in the last twenty-four hours. This figure, which had exceeded 31,000 at the peak of the third wave in mid-April, dropped below 20,000 on Saturday for the first time since October 27.

On Tuesday, critical care services (a term that includes intensive care units, intensive treatment, and continuous monitoring units) had 3,447 patients. Since Monday, 205 people have been admitted to these services, which cater to the most severely affected patients. Additionally, 199 people with Covid-19 have died in the hospital since Monday.
