Covid-19: The PACA region sees a slight decrease but remains higher than the rest of the country.

The daily report from Public Health France released its figures for Saturday, February 6. In the PACA region, the rate of recorded cases is stabilizing, albeit with difficulty, but the ICU bed occupancy rate is topping 90%.


Compared to yesterday, conventional hospitalizations have decreased by 10 patients, reaching 1,086 cases. For comparison, the decrease has been more than 500 over roughly ten days. The positivity rate for the past seven days in the region is higher than the national average. This rate is 6.5% in PACA, compared to 5.5% for the country. This is similar to the incidence rate, with 232 per 100,000 inhabitants in Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. The national level, on the other hand, is at 143.

The situation varies by department but is still increasing in Var, Bouches-du-Rhône, and Alpes-Maritimes. For comparison, the rates range from 5.6% in Bouches-du-Rhône to 10.1% in Hautes-Alpes.
