COVID-19: the pandemic is still spreading in Alpes-Maritimes

The figures published this Tuesday evening by ARS Paca report 16 additional Covid-related deaths in the hospitals of the department and five in Azur’s nursing homes. This brings the number of patients who have died from coronavirus since the beginning of the health crisis to 405.

As of today, 406 patients are being cared for in public and private hospitals in the department. At the height of the first wave, there were 282.

However, there is a slowdown in hospitalizations (23 fewer patients than the previous day) and a stabilization in intensive care admissions (74 patients).

In France, 3,168 new hospitalizations and 472 deaths have been recorded over the last 24 hours. According to the health agency, the total Covid-19 death toll rises to 42,207 when taking into account deaths in hospitals, nursing homes, and medical-social centers. In total, 31,477 coronavirus patients are currently hospitalized. This figure is approaching the record number of hospitalizations recorded during the first wave, which was 32,292 on April 14.
