The number of new infections in France over the past 24 hours is 38,619, and the number of deaths in hospitals is 271, according to the latest data from Santรฉ Publique France.
The pressure on intensive care units has risen again with the admission of 323 new patients in 24 hours, for a total of more than 4,500. The total capacity in intensive care and critical care units has been increased from 5,000 to 6,400 beds, with a target of 7,500 in the coming days, which could still be raised to 10,500 beds.
Regarding tests, the positivity rate is 20.3%. The number of deaths stands at 40,439, including 27,930 in hospitals. In the last 24 hours, 271 Covid patients died in hospitals (compared to 306 on Saturday).
