Public Health France reported this Tuesday, December 1, that 8,083 new cases of Covid-19 have been identified over the past 24 hours.
The test positivity rate continues to decline and stands today at 10.8% (10.9% on Monday, 11.1% on Sunday, 11.4% on Saturday, 11.7% on Friday, 12.2% on Thursday).
Additionally, 365 people have died in hospitals since yesterday. The total number of deaths since the beginning of the epidemic in France is 53,506.
The number of hospitalizations has significantly decreased since yesterday, with 619 fewer patients, bringing the total to below 28,000 for the first time since November 4.
According to the Ministry of Health, among the 27,639 people now hospitalized, 1,572 were admitted in the past 24 hours. Also, 234 patients have been transferred to intensive care during the same period, bringing the total number of patients in intensive care to 3,605.
As of today, 3,240 clusters are under investigation in the country, including 1,422 in nursing homes (Ehpad).
