France has just crossed a primarily symbolic threshold in its fight against the Covid-19 epidemic. More than 20 million vaccine injections have been administered in France, announced the Ministry of Health: nearly 21 million doses have been injected since last December 27.

However, this figure remains symbolic because for a vaccine to be fully effective, it is necessary to wait for the immune system’s response, several days after the second dose is administered (except for the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine). While nearly 15 million people have already received one dose, only 6 million have received the second dose so far.
