This Friday evening, 27,242 people are hospitalized for a Covid-19 infection. France had surpassed the threshold of 27,000 on Thursday evening (27,036). In one day, 2,048 more patients were hospitalized.
Among the total number of hospitalizations, there are 4,766 patients in intensive care (4,709 yesterday), with 476 admissions. This number continues to rise and was 4,287 a week ago.
The coronavirus continues to claim lives, even though the daily death toll has decreased slightly and is around 250 deaths per day. In the last 24 hours, 304 new deaths in hospitals have been recorded, bringing the total to at least 94,275 French people taken by this virus in almost 13 months.
The death figures in nursing homes and social and medico-social establishments (ESMS) have finally been updated after being stalled at 25,405 for ten days due to an update in the system. An update this evening brings the total to 25,999 deaths in these establishments.
