The latest data released this Friday by health authorities confirm that the number of hospitalizations due to a Covid-19 infection, which fell below the 10,000-patient mark on Wednesday, continues to decrease, giving hospitals some breathing room.
9,190 patients are hospitalized due to Covid-19. There were 10,738 a week ago. To recall, there were as many as 33,466 patients hospitalized on November 16, 2020, at the peak of the second wave of the epidemic. The numbers also continue to drop in critical care units, with 1,389 people this Friday, compared to 1,740 a week ago.
In hospitals, 33 new deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours. Regarding infections, 1,986 new cases of Covid-19 have been detected in the last 24 hours, also noted by Santé publique France, compared to 2,007.
As of June 24, 33,139,912 people have received at least one injection (49.2% of the total population) and 20,678,609 people have received their second dose (30.7% of the total population).
