New forecourt of the Matisse Museum of Cimiez Saturday, June 23 from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM

Since 2008, based on an idea by Marie-Thérèse Pulvénis and her teams at the Matisse Museum, the So What Company has been offering musical projects centered around the painter.

Compositions written especially for this project, ranging from duo to septet, as a preview of the Nice Jazz Festival. A jubilant jazz, a jazz of listening and respect, a desire to practice written and improvised jazz music of the 21st century (from the Nice hinterland). The result: written melodies and joyful improvisations, a blend of jazz fusion, swing, a Jazz imagined for the audience and the stage. A common desire to come together around a shared language, that of today’s jazz: vibrant, free, festive, creative. Musical images inspired by the color and sound of a living Matisse. A marriage between the eye and the ear, in this unique place that is the Matisse Museum of Cimiez.

Alex BENVENUTO (Bass Clarinet); Laurent LAPCHIN (Trumpet); Jean-Marc LAUGIER (Double Bass); Cédric FIORETTI (Drums); Thomas GUILLEMAUD (Soprano Sax); Henri ROGER (Piano, Guitar); José SERAFINO (Guitar)

The So What Company manages a jazz club in La Gaude and organizes the Jazz Meetings and the Jazz Awards of the Côte d’Azur;
