The Mediterranean University Center hosted, over two days, several representatives and elected officials from Italian and Monegasque municipalities and regions.
“We must enter concretely into the history of Europe!” declared Philippe Pradal during his opening speech for the cross-border European days.
The objective is simple. Nice, strategically placed with its two borders with Italy and Monaco, wants to intensify its relations with “its neighbors.” And the stakes are high, as they concern economic, environmental, and social issues.
The positioning of the Nice Cรดte d’Azur Metropolis will allow public and private actors to develop, create jobs, and develop the region’s economy.
However, the Metropolis is relying on one particular sector to convince its neighbors to increase their cooperation. Indeed, during this opening of the cross-border days, the city will present its “innovation” projects in technology. These include the European programs ALCOTRA and MARITTIMO.
It should be noted that the Var plain is at an international level in terms of innovation, especially with this major project of constructing a university campus that will be like “an intelligent city” in the Eco-valley.
The Mayor also emphasized that “the actions to be jointly undertaken in the fields of innovation, health, tourist itineraries, and natural risks (MARITTIMO project) … will lead to very concrete achievements!”
Thus, two very busy days are ahead, aimed at “building a modern future and resulting in concrete outcomes.”
