A day filled with history at the port of Nice where the frigate Hermione was welcomed upon its arrival by a small crowd of curious onlookers who, after the official speeches by the Secretary-General of La Francophonie Michaëlle Jean, a partner in this voyage as part of the “Liberté ensemble” project, and the first deputy Philippe Pradal, were able to board the ship for a visit.
During the day and before its departure for Bastia in the evening, young students and older grandparents in the front row, a good number of Nice residents came to the Riboty quay to admire this three-mast vessel, adorned with 200m² of sails over 65 meters long.
