The Port School organized yesterday a themed day titled “Jousรฉ Garibaldi, a hero from Nice, conquering continents.” Behind the scenes, a culinary journey around the Mediterranean.


Discovering and savoring quality products, teaching children the virtues of a balanced diet, these are the objectives of the nutritional policy led by the city of Nice in school cafeterias and early childhood establishments.

“To guide them in a fun way through this learning of taste, the city of Nice organizes numerous tasting and festive activities at lunchtime or snack time,” assures Madame Coupard, director of the Port School.

“I love chicken with couscous,” exclaims little Thรฉo, six years old, delighted. In the playground, a completely different activity awaits them. About fifty children aged 6 to 10 are having fun to the sound of oriental music, mimicking belly dancing. Coloring, painting workshops, or football have entertained the schoolchildren during this grand Mediterranean festival.

After Euro 2016, the History of France, or “Nissa Label”, Chef Ratatouille has developed this year recipes inspired by the travels of Jousรฉ Garibaldi. “A hero from Nice, conquering continents!” This theme will be showcased throughout the year on the plates of the little ones. “The children discovered Uruguay last month, we’ll continue at the beginning of 2019 with Asia before heading to Italy at the end of the school year,” details Sรฉbastien Mahuet, the Gourmet Chef of the School.
