Except for the time trial, each day a rider from Team Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur has showcased themselves at the front. On this 4th stage, it was Paul Hennequin who tried his luck.
173 km were on the menu for this 4th stage of the 4 Days of Dunkirk. A day intended for sprinters, as is often the case in this event. It was also an opportunity for Team Nice Métropole Côte d’Azur to be at the front of the race. On the four cobbled sectors located between Maubeuge and Archicourt, Paul Hennequin stood out. Present in a breakaway group of six riders, of which he was the youngest, Paul was quickly dropped. In a lone chase for a few kilometers, the Bordeaux native was eventually caught by the peloton, which attempted several echelons.
Behind, it was necessary to withstand the pace set by the major teams all the way to the finish line. And the best-placed Azuréen is Jonathan Couanon, who finished 24th. He is also the leading Aiglon in the overall standings (48th at 2’20”) behind the new leader Kasper Asgreen.
