Dance Honored at MAMAC

Latest News

The exhibition “Inventing Dance: In and Around Judson, New York, 1959-1970” is extended until April 7, 2019, at the contemporary gallery of the MAMAC. On this occasion, the city of Nice is organizing a dance-themed weekend this Saturday and Sunday.

Throughout this weekend, a varied program is offered within the MAMAC to explore the elegant world of dance. Film screenings will be organized, along with workshops, conferences, and performances.

The event focuses on the Judson Dance Theater, an informal group of dancers considered one of the pillars of the invention of post-modern dance. A guided tour of the exhibition dedicated to them will be conducted on Saturday at 11 am by Olivier Bergesi, the co-curator of the exhibition.
