Launched by Gulli and Ligue 1+, the new weekly show “My Super Ligue 1” gives children a voice to discover the French championship in a different way. Filmed partly in Nice in recent weeks, it highlights the captain of OGC Nice, Dante, and a young football enthusiast.
Since October 29, Gulli and Ligue 1+ have been broadcasting “My Super Ligue 1”, a weekly magazine dedicated to football, designed for and with children. Every Wednesday at 4 PM on Gulli, and then on the weekend on Ligue 1+, young viewers discover the behind-the-scenes of the French championship. Hosted by SoAnne, the show offers a new perspective on Ligue 1, far from adult analysis and expert debates.
For the second episode, aired this Wednesday, November 5, Nice hosted the filming team in the “VIP Pass” segment. The captain of OGC Nice, Dante, shared a moment with young Hugo, a fan of the club. The encounter was marked by surprise, with an unexpected taxi ride to meet the player, highlighting an emotional and close approach to football.
The show is not limited to showing matches. It highlights children’s curiosity and their view of this popular sport. In the various segments, young viewers ask their own questions, comment on goals, or participate in sports challenges. All in a relaxed atmosphere, where players join in the fun.
Nice, a Highlighted Stop
After Lyon, Lens, and Monaco, Nice becomes a new stop on the journey of this weekly show “My Super Ligue 1”. The show intends to travel through the stadiums and training centers across the country. Each trip highlights the values of the sport and the connections between clubs and their young supporters.
The presence of Dante in this second episode illustrates this aim of bringing children closer to their heroes. The Brazilian defender, a respected figure in the championship, has always been mindful of football’s social role. His participation reinforces the idea that this sport can convey values of respect, solidarity, and perseverance.
In Nice, this link between the club and youth takes on a special meaning. OGC Nice has been involved for several years in actions aimed at young supporters and schools. By highlighting the city, “My Super Ligue 1” emphasizes this local commitment and offers Nice’s children new national visibility.
A Partnership Between Gulli and Ligue 1+
The show is the result of a collaboration between Gulli, the youth channel of the M6 group, and Ligue 1+, the official platform of French football. This partnership aims to create a bridge between the world of professional sports and that of children.
“With My Super Ligue 1, we want to convey to the young ones the emotion and passion of football from an early age”, explains Nicolas de Tavernost, General Director of LFP Media. “By addressing children directly, we create a lasting attachment to our clubs, players, and championship, while offering families fun, educational, and inclusive content.”
For Philippe Bony, President of Gulli, the project also has an educational dimension: “more than viewers, children will be the actors of My Super Ligue 1. A unique opportunity to discover a sport, express their passion, and even meet their heroes!”
A Regular Family Appointment
Each episode lasts twenty minutes and alternates between reports, challenges, and humorous sequences. It includes segments like “In the Locker Room!”, where players answer children’s questions, “Story Foot”, which revisits the great stories of the championship, and “Goaaaal!”, a collective commentary on the weekend’s best goals.
Children can also apply to participate in the show. Some become guest commentators for a day, while others accompany SoAnne on the field. This participatory approach places the young ones at the center of the setup.
With Nice as the setting this week, “My Super Ligue 1” confirms its ambition: to make football a field of exchange and discovery for children, both in stadiums and on screens.
