"Darkpink" clips with Fabienne Carat

Every weekday evening, Fabienne Carat puts on her police sergeant uniform to play the role of Samia Nassri in the France 3 series “Plus belle la vie.” On December 10th, on Nice-Premium, the actress unveiled her musical universe “Darkpink,” with its fragrant colors. At the beginning of this year, her album is brought to life! And, starting today, we invite you on this journey of mixed softness and darkness.

Nice-Premium: So, Fabienne, after recording your songs in a studio in Beausoleil, it seems that “DarkPink” continues to make waves on the French Riviera, and this time there is not only music but also images?

Fabienne Carat: Indeed, we recorded in Beausoleil, with Maurice OUAZANA who composed and produced the 11 tracks of the album DARKPINK! He is also involved in the filming of the music video. Most of the video “STOP (DarkPink),” broadcasted on France Bleu AZUR, was filmed in a magnificent location. The restaurant “Le ZELO’S” offers incredible colors, architecture, and a very graphic decor faithful to the universe of PINK and also to that of DARK, where the two entities meet…

N.P.: So, the Principality of Monaco has swapped its red and white colors for black and pink! But how did the Rock get imbued with this universe?

F.C.: That’s true; we also filmed outdoor scenes in front of the Grimaldi Forum, which I discovered thanks to the Monaco Festival… but it is mainly Maurice and Frédérique Gandibleux, our assistant on this clip, who made this possible… We exploited the very design shape of this “pyramid,” illuminated in pink especially for the shoot. These scenes symbolize the arrival of DARK, who comes to PINK’s rescue to bring her courage and restore her balance, and they were filmed there!

N-P: For the past few weeks, “Stop” is on the playlist of France Bleu Azur, and today, your song transforms into images, but what is its story?

F.C.: In the “ZELO’S,” we mainly find the universe of PINK, who feels sad and helpless, following a romantic breakup that has left her without strength. DARK feels like a subliminal message waking her up. She takes on PINK’s distress and embarks on a frenzied march to rescue her… After briefly crossing paths without speaking, PINK and DARK both realize that they will now become one. The newfound strength of PINK is symbolized by the spraying of DARKPINK perfume! The two women become DARKPINK, who takes control and decides to fight with a smile and regain a zest for life…

N-P: Okay, you’re in front of the camera, but who’s behind it?

F.C.: It’s Director Fred RAYNAUD, whom I met six years ago during a casting for a film. We stayed in touch all these years, and one day while talking over lunch, we decided to work together on this project. He brings his cinematic universe and a different identity to each video. He also took all the photos of DARPINK, for the site https://www.fabiennecarat.com/, the visuals, as well as unique photos found in the album’s booklet and the calendar…

N-P: A “DarkPink” video, down to the very tips of your hair?

F.C.: Hair is part of my identity; they are almost a protection! I immediately wanted, as if it were obvious, to use them to symbolize DARKPINK with a play of black and pink strands.

N-P: Where and when can we see the “Stop” clip?

F.C.: Very soon… (laughs)

N-P: By the way, I believe you’re going to keep painting France in DarkPink, right? Isn’t the next destination a ski resort?

F.C.: We can’t hide anything from you; indeed, we filmed a second VIDEO CLIP, for the title “UN MESSAGE EGARE” in Châtel (74). I will be able to get a subscription in this mountain town, because that’s also where we filmed “IN EXTREMIS” by Laurence Genou this summer, with my partner Stéphane Hénon.
