David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes and Vice-President of the Departmental Council of Alpes-Maritimes, has just been re-elected President of the Regional Tourism Committee Côte d’Azur France, with the unanimous support of the members of the General Assembly, which brought together businesses and tourist destinations.

During his first three-year term, David Lisnard’s tenure was notably marked by the management of the crisis and recovery following the July 14, 2016 attack, and by the launch, on December 1, 2016, of a strong collective territorial marketing initiative centered around the destination brand: CÔTE d’AZUR FRANCE, which achieved significant visibility, reaching 350 million contacts worldwide (920,000 shares of #CotedAzurFrance).

Since his election on June 29, 2015, a real dynamic has been set in motion with:

– an increase in foreign stays, which reached a record level of 5.8 million in 2017 (+4%);

– growth in stays by foreigners from distant countries, which represented a 35% share of international visitor numbers in 2017 (+6%);

– and lastly, a spreading of seasonality with an increase of +11% in hotel overnights during the winter season.

On the occasion of his new term, David Lisnard intends to affirm measurable and quantifiable commitments by 2021, aiming to consolidate and develop the Côte d’Azur France’s market share in high-potential foreign markets: 6.5 million foreign stays, a 12% increase; and a 15% rise in the share of stays by visitors from distant countries.
