David Lisnard, Mayor of Cannes and Vice-President of the Departmental Council of Alpes-Maritimes, has just been elected President of the Regional Tourism Committee of the Côte d’Azur. He succeeds Alain Gumiel, former general councilor and former mayor of Golfe-Juan Vallauris.
David Lisnard, who was already Vice-President of this organization and served as President of the Palais des Congrès de Cannes, has very clear ideas on the matter.
His strategy is certainly already well established in his mind and just waiting to be implemented: “We need to write a new page in Azorean tourism by turning the CRT into a true development agency for the Côte d’Azur brand,” emphasized the newly elected president.
“Tourism is above all a commercial sector activity, and the CRT must be a catalyst for private initiatives, a protector of taxpayers through strict control of expenses, and a developer of the territory from Menton to Saint Tropez, uniting professionals and partners to adapt our offer to the realities of the 21st century.”
“In terms of business tourism, I will convene an informal departmental ‘convention bureau,’ meaning without operating expenses, composed of managers of Azorean convention centers and professionals.”
