Jean-Paul Barรฉty has passed away. He was 90 years old and had held the position of mayor of Nice from October 1993 to June 1995, during the transitional period following the resignation of Jacques Mรฉdecin.
From an illustrious family involved in the life of the Pays niรงois from generation to generation, from Puget-Thรฉniers to Nice, he presided over the Acadรจmia nissarda, founded by his grandfather.
Jean-Paul Barรฉty succeeded Honorรฉ Bailet, who resigned for health reasons. He was also elected as a deputy in March 1994, following the annulment of Christian Estrosi’s election by the Constitutional Council.
