Decision by the State for financial aid of €20M for the construction of the Nice Stadium.

Latest News

The latest results of OGC Nice are certainly not unrelated to the decision just made by the State to increase the budget allocated for the construction of the Nice Stadium. An additional 2 million Euros will bring the State’s contribution to 20 million Euros. Now the question remains: what will the final bill amount to?

Christian Estrosi, Deputy, Mayor of Nice, President of Nice Côte d’Azur:
“I met today (yesterday) with Chantal Jouanno, Minister of Sports, who informed me that the State’s financial support for the construction of the new Nice stadium will be increased to 20 million Euros, which is 2 million Euros more than initially planned. The primary objective of Nice’s sports policy is to make sports accessible to all residents of Nice and to ensure that Nice, as a sports hub, can host high-level sports events. The construction of the future Nice Stadium is aligned with this goal.”

However, the Mayor of Nice’s reaction was not entirely positive, as he took the opportunity to criticize his regional political opponent, accusing them of disdain due to the Region “not responding to the City of Nice’s subsidy requests.”

Almost a Nice-Marseille showdown before this weekend’s derby at the Velodrome stadium. Will Christian Estrosi be in the Olympian stands?
