Yesterday at 3 PM, the distribution of flotation vests took place at the nautical bases of the departmental sailing plan for welcoming middle school students.
The Nautical Club of Nice hosted the distribution of flotation vests to the middle schools and the nautical centers of the department yesterday. Eric Ciotti was present to uphold the departmental sailing plan, which operates within the framework of the handisailing plan in sports schools and regional regattas.
The goal of the school sailing plan is to offer every middle school student an opportunity to access the sea and practice sailing. Regardless of social background, everyone has the right. Even students with a disability will be able to access it.
What are the results of all this?
This initiative has enabled 5,676 middle school students to participate in 1,500 supervised sailing sessions by 133 physical education teachers. The sailing plan has cost 1 Million euros, and the school sailing plan itself 600,000 euros. These are significant figures, but they allow children who do not have the opportunity to access this aspect of the sport to taste the freedom and enjoyment that the sea offers them.
