This will be one of the most sensitive issues of the next mandate, and one of the most anticipated in the municipal campaign. The result of the consultation is really no surprise: at every opportunity, the residents demand everything and its opposite!
It is certainly not easy to balance everyone’s requests while also considering the needs of the neighborhood. Thus, at the top of the list are sports and playgrounds, nurseries, parking lots, and housing.
What appears obvious is that residents are largely in favor of a public and social purpose. The question of financing will then arise, which could have been provided by some developers seeking a real estate program.
A real headache for the future mayor, because, even if they are purely advisory, these results will weigh heavily in the balance at the time of the decision.
As the consultation has closed, reading the records reveals:
1,876 contributions accounted for in the CAL register, part of which corresponds to two petitions: one with more than 300 signatures, the other with nearly 1,200 signatures, and 35 written contributions on the urban planning forum register.
The reading of the written remarks is as follows:
1,661 requests for sports fields and playgrounds;
1,637 requests for parking;
1,533 requests for nurseries;
1,206 requests for schools;
1,324 requests for a multi-purpose hall;
1,350 requests for housing;
1,271 requests for local shops;
435 rejections of housing, especially social housing;
289 requests for gardens, parks, green spaces;
51 rejections of the establishment of shops
The public consultation on the future of the Ray site took place from January 17 to February 21, 2014, with an exhibition of explanatory documents and a request register made available at the Gorbella Animation and Leisure Center, as well as at the Urban Planning and Architecture Forum. A public consultation meeting was also held on February 18, 2014, at the Nice North Forum.
The purpose of this communication is purely informational. It does not replace the consultation report that will be conducted during a forthcoming Metropolitan Council and then presented to the Municipal Council, in accordance with deliberations No. 29.5 of the Metropolitan Bureau of December 13, 2013, No. 5.1 of the Municipal Council of October 11, 2013, and Article L.300-2 of the Urban Planning Code.
