An Impeccable Career
Diana Krall was born in 1964 into a family of musicians in Nanaimo, Canada. She began learning to play the piano at the age of 4. As a teenager, she regularly played in her hometown’s restaurants. At the International Jazz Festival in Vancouver, she was awarded a three-year scholarship to attend Berklee College of Music in Boston. She released her first album titled “Stepping Out” in 1993, but her breakthrough came with her third album, “All for You”, released in 1996 which earned her a Grammy Award nomination. In 1999, the singer won the award for Best Musician of the Year. “Live in Paris”, Diana Krall’s first live album, was recorded during her concert at the Olympia in Paris in 2001.
Thanks to her majestic talent, she has been honored multiple times, like in 2005 when she received the title of Officer of the Order of Canada. Although it is an album of covers, “Quiet Nights” released on March 31, 2009, ranks among the best-of Diana Krall, a singer with a flawless musical career.
