The city of Nice offers a virtual tour of the former Casino de la Jetée Promenade at the Masséna Museum since December 23, 2023.
At the Masséna Museum since December 23 from 11 AM to 5 PM, a virtual tour “The Lost Casino of the Jetée Promenade” has been launched. The museum offers an immersive experience that brings back to life the old Jetée Casino, revisiting the building’s genesis and the artistic richness of the structure.
We travel back a century to when this building was constructed at the end of the 19th century. The Casino de la Jetée was also a restaurant, a theater, and a concert hall. It was during World War II, specifically in 1944, that the building was destroyed by the Nazis to recover the materials that composed the Casino.
Thanks to the numerous resources available, such as photography, archives, and objects, 3D models were created to faithfully reproduce the architecture and atmosphere of the building. The virtual tour is free and is available by reservation in French and English.
