The Jules Chéret Fine Arts Museum of Nice is celebrating 150 years of the Impressionist movement with an exceptional exhibition, “Berthe Morisot in Nice. Impressionist Stopovers”.
Until September 29, 2024, visitors can admire over sixty works by the artist, created during her stays on the French Riviera in 1881-1882 and 1888-1889. To enrich this exhibition, the museum is offering a series of original cultural activities throughout the summer.
The Program
Creative Tours “Reflections of the Port” On Thursdays, July 25, August 29, and September 19 at 10 am, embark on a pointu with photographer Gaëlle Simon and a museum mediator. The workshop allows you to compare Morisot’s works with photographs, working on techniques such as framing and lighting. Fee: €6.20
Berthe Morisot’s Lunch On Saturdays, August 31 and September 28 at 11 am, combine a visit to the exhibition with a lunch inspired by Morisot’s works and the dishes she appreciated. Fees: €45 (members), €55 (non-members)
Family Creation Workshop: “The Landscapes of Nice” Every Wednesday from July 24 to September 18 at 3 pm, this workshop offers the chance to reinterpret the vegetal and aquatic motifs of Morisot’s paintings using various artistic techniques. Suitable for ages 7 and above, duration 2 hours, fee: €8.50
Tasting Tours “A Bite, A Work” On Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 5 pm and 6 pm, combine the discovery of Morisot’s works with a tasting experience designed by chefs Daniele and Diane Mundo from L’Ardoise restaurant. Fees: Entrance ticket (€12) + €6.20
Visit to Villa Ratti and its Garden On Wednesday, September 25 at 2:30 pm, explore the residence where Morisot stayed in 1888-1889, discovering her artistic representations and the evolution of the surrounding landscape. Fee: €6.50
Wandering Tours “In the Footsteps of Berthe Morisot in Nice” On Tuesdays, August 27 and September 24 at 2:30 pm, follow Morisot’s footsteps through the places she loved, with a tour ending at the port that can be extended by visiting the exhibition at the museum. Fees: Tour with museum entry: full rate €12, reduced rate €6; Guided tour only: full rate €8, reduced rate €3
