Documentary Film Month: Carros Focuses on Junk Food

As part of the 12th edition of the Documentary Film Month, initiated by the association Images en bibliothèques, the city of Carros and the André Verdet media library, in partnership with the Cinéactions association, are offering three screenings on Saturday, November 26, at the Juliette Gréco hall.

This year, documentaries followed by conferences and debates will focus on the theme of junk food. Jean-Paul Jaud, director of Severn, the Voice of Our Children, and Marie-Monique Robin, director of Our Daily Poison, will be present for discussions following the screening of their films. Since the appearance of the term “junk food” and the public debates surrounding it, industries have been trying to entice consumers by emphasizing the natural aspect, without always informing the public about what they are actually consuming and the industrial processes of the food industry.

Hence, the theme chosen this year in Carros is titled “Junk Food, We’re Being Poisoned.”

This is also an opportunity for the public to explore this slightly different cinematic genre, especially since the sessions are free! Note that the municipal catering service will offer a buffet between each screening, and a small market of local producers will be set up throughout the afternoon in the hall.
