Because the professional and social integration of young people is a major national priority, this meeting was an opportunity for the President of the Mission Locale Nice Cรดte dโAzur to review the past year and to outline the main directions for 2019, in order to facilitate young people’s access to employment and autonomy.
Today, the Local Missions constitute the national public service of reference for the specific support of young people (ages 16-25) towards autonomy and employment. The total number of young people welcomed by the Mission Locale during the past year is 8,354, of whom 7,289 received support. 2,825 new registrants were welcomed.
Various themes were discussed:
- Access to employment for young people, notably through the mobilization of the social responsibility of employers in the territory;
- The implementation of reforms in training and apprenticeships and the dynamics initiated, especially alongside the State, the Region, Pรดle emploi, consular chambers, in connection with the new skills operators (former OPCA) and apprenticeships training centers (CFA);
- The national week of Local Missions with the launch of a satisfaction survey among young users to better meet their expectations and needs;
- The participation of the Mission Locale in the national strategy for the prevention and fight against youth poverty;
- Improving information and communication towards young people to promote access to their rights.
