“We are the only candidates from the republican right to defend, at the national level, the independence of France, and to not be subservient to the ESTROSI-CIOTTI clan at the departmental level.”

cantorep.jpg Press conference of the Debout la Rรฉpublique candidates who wanted to set the tone for their election campaign:

“The cessation of extravagant spending on communication and pharaonic projects which will inevitably be funded by new tax hikes after the 17% increase in 2009”: Anthony MITRANO firmly denounced the grandiosity madness of Messrs. CIOTTI and ESTROSI while the Head of State and the government are imposing austerity on the French. He also criticized the outgoing General Councilor of the 5th canton, Bernard ASSO, whom he considers worn out after so many years in office and completely absent due to his numerous political and professional roles.

Dominique LAPORTE, candidate in the 8th canton, for his part, railed against the insecurity that reigns in the cities of the Department and called for an increase in the number of national police officers and the necessary reassignment of municipal police officers to security issues rather than issuing fines. He also stressed the urgency to focus financial efforts on locating new businesses, as the employment issue is the number one problem for the French, as well as on housing for young families and middle-income populations. At the end of his speech, he delivered a scathing criticism of his two competitors, Messrs. BETTATTI and CAEL, accusing them of their winding paths and successive loyalties, labeling them chameleon politicians.

Didier BURDIN, candidate in the 5th canton, defended local commerce, essential for people who cannot travel to the outskirts and for maintaining social ties. He emphasized that neither the left-wing incumbent nor the centrist candidate labeled UMP, nor the extremists responded to the aspirations of the population.
To conclude, recalling that Nicolas DUPONT-AIGNAN would be running for the presidential elections, the Debout La Rรฉpublique candidates called on the disappointed from the UMP, the voters of Philippe de Villiers, and all those who believe in the values of the Republic and the future of France to join them and vote for them.
