Last night, at the Gé Gallaratto boulodrome in Nice, the final of the EuroPétanque 2019 took place, preceded by a small cocktail party. This final featured Rocher/Lacroix/Robineau against Riviera/Bonetto/Fernandez.

A calm evening that ended up being stressful. The little cocktail party at the beginning of the evening reminded everyone of the summery and friendly atmospheres of pétanque players. But after that, things got serious, in front of an almost full stand.

With a thrilling final between two of the best triplet teams in the world. The kickoff was given by Eric Ciotti, who in his pre-match speech “thanked all the people who contributed to the smooth organization of this tournament: the volunteers, the partners, and of course, the 3,000 participants of this 18th edition of EuroPétanque.”

Dylan Rocher and Henri Lacroix were searching for a new major title at the start of the summer. Having been beaten in the semi-finals and finals of EuroPétanque before, they had to win the title last night. A very close match between two high-level teams. Bonetto’s team sets the tone right away, but Rocher’s team does not give in.

The match continues but still no break with the score tied at 4 points each. It is at this point that Bonetto and his team falter. Fernandez, his teammate, misses two shots, leaving a round of 6 points to Rocher’s team.

Finally, the Var team of Dylan Rocher wins 13 to 6, and can finally lift the trophy of this beautiful EuroPétanque, after 3 final appearances.
